Welcome to the BBC

BIG CARTWHEELS FOR MADISON

Each year during the holiday season, the BIG Team raises awareness and supports a charity or cause for children through the BIG Girls Care campaign.  This year, BIG Gymnastics was proud to support Madison Mueller in her fight against Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML).

Madison is a 14 year old 8th grader from New Lenox, Illinois and the best friend of one of BIG’S original team members, Alana Kolacki, level 8. Ally and Madison have been friends since they were just 1 year old.  Ally says that Madison “Is one of the smartest people I know “, and marvels at her straight A report cards year after year in school. Madison has all the hopes and dreams of any 14 year old girl and just wants to enjoy her friends and family and do “normal teenage girl stuff.”

BIG gymnasts started to support Madison before we even knew it. When she was first diagnosed and hospitalized at Hope Children’s Hospital this past summer, she was given one of the many blankets that were handmade by our team members.

On December 17th, the BIG Team sponsored a Cartwheel-a-thon by collecting pledges and cartwheeling to raise money for the Madison Mueller Cancer Fund.  Together, we raised over $8300 for Madison!

A BIG Thank You to all of of the BIG Families and Friends who supported this successful event!

Welcome, from the BIG Booster Club!

The BIG Booster Club, which we will refer to as the BBC, is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of team parents who love the sport of gymnastics, and wish to support and encourage the BIG Gymnastics Team from level 4 through level 10.

It is our purpose to promote team spirit and camaraderie through organized team activities, and to provide opportunities for fundraisers and special events to benefit the team program of Balance Institute of Gymnastics. We are also committed to giving back to the community through our BIG Girls Care program which is dedicated to “kids helping kids.”

The BBC plays an important role throughout the year, working directly with the coaching staff to plan events and maintain open lines of communication to parents.  We have heard repeatedly in the past that lack of communication is a common frustration in the gymnastics world. This is something that BIG and the BBC want to change. It is our goal to utilize this site as a communications hub for the booster club and the gym. The BBC officers welcome any team related questions, ideas, and concerns.

Being a gymnast requires hard work, dedication, discipline, and respect for your team mates and coaches.  We, as parents, should strive to promote the mental, physical, and moral development of our team members.  We are here to celebrate with one another during our successes, as well as to support one another during difficult times.

It is an honor to be a member of the BIG Gymnastics Program and we look forward to a future of many successful seasons.
